Specific pollutant
Water for life and livelihoods, River basin management plans, Glossary, Published by the Environment Agency in 2016, defines a specific pollutant as a: ‘Substance identified as a potential pollutant by a member state. These substances and associated environmental quality standards are proposed in the UK by the UKTAG and introduced into legislation by government.’
